Successful career orientation day at BUTTING

At the end of January, the first career orientation day took place at BUTTING in Knesebeck. Fifty-two pupils were invited to the factory premises to experience first-hand what it means to be part of the family of employees. BUTTING, as a well-qualified family business, wants to support young people in their personal development. A presentation of the apprenticed professions by BUTTING trainees provided insights into the exciting variety of training opportunities.

Carsten Kamke, team leader for industrial training at BUTTING in Knesebeck, warmly welcomed the students to the staff canteen: "The career orientation day is an exciting journey through our company and we invite you to get to know us and discover what we are about. We see ourselves as a well-qualified family of employees that continues to learn every day and we are open to new stimuli and unique personalities."

Equipped with high-visibility vests and safety shoes, the students set off in groups with a trainee to explore the BUTTING factory premises. From the project workshop to the training welding shop and lathery, there was a lot to discover in terms of craftsmanship. One of the highlights of the day was the welding simulator, where the students were able to experience first-hand how precise the work of a welder has to be.

In order to gain a wide variety of insights, they visited the warehouse, then the laboratory and IT department, and also various administrative buildings to get a taste of the commercial side. Whether learning about tricky tasks or discovering detailed information about production processes, the students were enthusiastic about familiar, but also previously unknown professions.

The students' delight, interest and curiosity was clear to see on their faces throughout the day! "I am thrilled that so many young people were able to come and get one step closer to their professional future. As part of this experience, we look forward to mentoring young people and welcoming them into our family of employees in the future."

With this in mind, we look forward to welcoming interested students to our company on 27.4.2023 on the occasion of Future Day.
