The future needs technology – success needs team spirit

BUTTING is known worldwide for high-precision stainless steel processing, technological excellence, and reliable solutions.

But long-term success does not come from technology alone – it is supported by a corporate culture that values people. This culture shapes daily interactions at all BUTTING locations and creates an environment in which trust, responsibility, and cooperation can grow.

Whether in Knesebeck, Schwedt, Brazil, or China – at all BUTTING locations, we invest specifically in the cohesion of our workforce. Because where community grows, so does motivation – and with it, long-term corporate success.

Team event in Tieling

A current example from Tieling, our production site in northeastern China, impressively demonstrates how our values are put into practice in everyday working life. On around 10,000 m², the team manufactures containers, tanks, and ready-to-assemble components for international markets on weekdays. In addition to product quality and efficient processes, the focus is on the workforce – with a clear emphasis on safe working conditions, resource conservation, and strong teamwork.

Just how vibrant this culture is was demonstrated on June 8, 2025, when BUTTING Tieling organized a group hike on the initiative of its employees. Early in the morning, 95 colleagues set off in two buses for Jiuding Tiecha, a historic mountain range about 80 kilometers south of the site.

Experiencing community: hike to Jiuding Tiecha

Jiuding Tiecha is considered the birthplace of Taoism in northeastern China. As early as 1630, a Taoist priest retired to the Yunguang Cave – over the centuries, this spiritual tradition developed into an important monastery, which is no longer active today.

The route led over five peaks with heights of over 900 meters through an area of around 20 kilometers, characterized by steep cliffs, historical inscriptions, and caves. The varied landscape offered space for exercise, exchange, and moments of quiet reflection – far away from everyday work.

The highlight: a break together at the highest point of the route, in perfect weather and with snacks we had brought with us. It was a moment of togetherness and appreciation – and a lasting impression for everyone involved.

In the afternoon, the group returned to Tieling satisfied and refreshed. For many, it was clear that this experience had promoted team spirit in a special way and strengthened the sense of togetherness.
