Noisy operations are a thing of the past: since June, BUTTING Tieling has been using its first electric forklift truck, which has a load capacity of 3.5 tonnes and is equipped with a powerful lithium-ion battery, an extended lift mast and a comfortable full cabin.
This marks the beginning of the gradual replacement of the existing diesel forklift fleet. Seven vehicles, with load capacities ranging from 2 to 5 tonnes, are set to be converted. The advantages are clear: lower emissions, less noise and no harmful exhaust fumes, which is good for the climate, employees and efficiency. In the long term, it will also be possible to dispense with the petrol station that has been used until now.
Photovoltaics: solar power from the hall roof.
The management in Tieling is also committed to a sustainable energy supply. After a long wait, approval has recently been granted for the expansion of the photovoltaic system. Work is in full swing on installing around 3,000 m² of solar panels on the roofs of halls 3 and 4.
Along with the existing system on Hall 1, this will achieve a total output of just under 1 megawatt in future. An intelligent energy management system (EMS) controls the efficient use or grid feed of the energy generated.
Shaping a strong future – with responsibility
Our investments in Tieling demonstrate that BUTTING is committed to sustainability, not just as a passing trend, but as part of our corporate ethos. We act out of conviction, investing in modern technologies and designing processes that are ecologically and economically sustainable in the long term.
“For us, sustainability is part of our technical and corporate DNA. In Tieling, we demonstrate that economic success and ecological responsibility go hand in hand”, explains Jens Ellermann, BUTTING China's Managing Director.
