Piping components for the chemical industry in the shortest time possible

A large number of projects involving chemical facilities and equipment construction have relied on the tried and tested BUTTING quality. Recently, BUTTING was once again able to demonstrate its competence in supplying high quality products: An equipment manufacturer placed an order with the main plant in Knesebeck for the production of various piping components for different chemical plants. To this end, more than 2 000 production hours had to be completed within a very short period of time.

The scope of supply included piping components in the range from OD 400 to OD 2 000 mm. The end customer had selected different materials for the pipe parts: Depending on the application, heat-resistant materials such as 1.4828 were processed in addition to the standard grades 1.4541 and 1.4571.
In addition, bends were made using a segmented construction method. These elbows, which are used as gas outlets, have an impressive size: 2 020 x 8,0 mm.
In addition, our customer ordered perforated sheets in material 1.4541. More than 1,500 cut-outs had to be programmed and implemented on our in-house waterjet systems.

"Within only 10 weeks we were able to produce all the different pipe parts. We worked for more than 2 000 hours in the production lines alone," reports Eduard Michel, Project Manager Spools and plant construction. "Our customer was impressed by our performance and thanked the entire project team several times. That's how we were able to inspire our customer – and gain a new BUTTING fan."

Whether it's stock pipes in a wide range of pipe sizes and materials (including 1.4539), pigging installation systems or piping components made of special materials with high specification requirements – our many years of experience in stainless steel processing mean we can support the chemical industry when it comes to demanding tasks.
