Major project landed for Qatar

Since the mid-1990s, BUTTING has been a leading full-service provider of clad project packages for renowned customers worldwide. Now the main plant in Knesebeck has been awarded another major project: the family business has been contracted to supply large-diameter longitudinally welded metallurgically clad pipes (HRB) for QatarEnergy, a major LNG producer based in Qatar.

The line pipes ordered will be used in the "North Field Expansion Project" (NFE Project), which is the world's largest LNG project. It is an expansion of a natural gas field located off the northeast coast of Qatar that has been in operation since 1997.

The recent order includes approx. 7,400 metres of metallurgically clad pipes with various outside diameters, including 28" and 38", as well as the necessary bends.

Marc Brausse, Business Unit Director Clad pipes, explains: "In order to be able to deliver this complex major order with an overall tonnage of more than 7,000 tonnes on time in the summer and winter of 2022/2023, BUTTING can also rely on long-standing, reliable partners in its supply chain, which is an important comfort zone for BUTTING and our customers, especially in this day and age. It's a total package from the leading supplier of clad pipes!"

BUTTING has extensive manufacturing and delivery capabilities. It can supply metallurgically clad pipes, BuBi® and GluBi® mechanically lined pipes, as well as weld overlay pipes. BUTTING's solutions also include the necessary bends and prefabricated pipe segments.
