Focus on occupational safety: New HSE unit

Occupational health and safety for our employees has always been an integral part of our mission statement. The further improvement of occupational safety is a top priority for us and has been included in our company objectives for 2021. It is therefore BUTTING's declared goal to focus more strongly on fostering a culture of occupational health and safety in the coming years. For this purpose, the new Health, Safety and Environment unit, HSE for short, was created in Knesebeck.

Thomas Schüller, Managing Director of BUTTING in Knesebeck, explains: "With the implementation of an independent HSE unit, we at BUTTING want to make clear the importance we attach to the occupational health and safety of our employees and also our visitors." He is convinced that, in this way, "BUTTING will be able to even better meet the increasing requirements from the authorities, the certification companies and, in particular, our customers."

Jan-Henrik Godau, who has many years of experience in the field of occupational safety in various branches of industry, was recruited for the position of head of department. His intention is that "we work continuously to actively reduce the hazards at the main plant. The working environments of our employees, the machines, systems and workstations, are systematically analysed with regard to potential hazards. Risks are assessed and measures are taken to minimise and prevent risks."

In future, the following topics will be merged:

"By merging them, we want to improve future coordination between the individual functions, bundle resources and promote the topics more effectively overall," explains Thomas Schüller.

Jan-Henrik Godau is eagerly anticipating the task: "BUTTING is consciously setting an example as a company. I am convinced that together we will make BUTTING safer, thus preventing injuries, accidents and work-related illnesses."
