Exchange of experiences across sectors

Stefanie Tutay, HR manager at BUTTING in Knesebeck, recently welcomed members of the Mechanical Engineering Cooperation Initiative (Kooperationsinitiative Maschinenbau e.V., KIM) to the parent plant's company site in Lower Saxony. Many member company representatives took part in the infor-mation exchange of the working group on HR issues.

The Kooperationsinitiative Maschinenbau e.V. is a group of currently 30 small and medium-sized companies in the mechanical engineering and metal processing field creating an effective network in the Braunschweig area. The Employers Association for the Braunschweig region (AGV Braunschweig), the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and the Braunschweig University of Technology are other important members of the cooperative group. The shared objectives are safeguarding the area as a location for industry, creating and preserving jobs and strengthening the economy of the entire region.

Experts from the companies meet regularly in working groups to cooperate in their various specialist areas. For example, the working group on HR issues meets regularly on the premises of the different member associations. In addition to maintaining contacts, the exchange of information and experience also plays an important role.

Before Stefanie Tutay invited the participants on a tour of the plant, the most recent meeting had focused on the introduction of healthcare measures via health insurance funds. This was introduced and discussed in a productive working atmosphere. In addition, in-house and external opportunities for further training were listed in detail and discussed.
