Energy management certified in accordance with ISO 50001

In February 2015, BUTTING for the first time gained ISO 50001 certification for successful systematic energy management. The auditors believe that the energy management system introduced for this purpose for the first time in 2012 successfully implements the legal requirements and guarantees more sustainable production.

Using energy selectively and monitoring consumption continuously is an important aspect for BUTTING, especially with regard to increasing energy costs. For many years, environmental friendliness and sustainability have provided the main focus of our entrepreneurial activities. To do justice to these objectives, the family business opted to design the production process in accordance with an energy management system under ISO 50001. With the start of energy management in 2012, the continuous improvement of energy efficiency, transparency in energy consumption and improved awareness among BUTTING staff were set as long-term strategic energy objectives.

ISO 50001 is a globally valid standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is intended to support organisations and companies in setting up a systematic energy management system.

BUTTING already is certified for quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management (OHSAS 18001), and now we also meet the requirements for systematic energy management. Another milestone on the way to environmentally friendly, sustainable production.
