BUTTING: Award as TOP Innovator 2020

Do away with the old and risk something new: innovative medium-sized companies like BUTTING from Knesebeck are not afraid of change. They see it as an opportunity. This was the company's convincing argument in the 27th round of the TOP 100 innovation competition. BUTTING will officially be among the TOP 100 as of 19 June. In the scientific selection process, the family business was particularly successful in the size class C (more than 200 employees), especially in the category "Innovative processes and organisation".

Hermann Butting is quite clearly proud of this award: "German small and medium-sized enterprises enjoy the highest reputation worldwide – and rightly so: they are the engine of growth and the backbone of the economy, they are the principle of success and the attitude to life. After all, it is mainly small and medium-sized companies like BUTTING which provide jobs, train young people and secure Germany's competitiveness as a business location. Our employees embody our culture of innovation and have made a contribution to this award".

Every project and every industry has its own requirements. "We are constantly expanding our know-how and can use the wide range of experience for future projects," explains the owner.

In order to meet the needs of its customers, the pipe manufacturer experiments with the latest technology and production techniques. This not only results in new products, but also in innovative tools and new manufacturing processes.

With this in mind, BUTTING took part in the Germany-wide TOP 100 competition for the first time. Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 seal for special innovative strength and above-average innovative success to medium-sized companies. Professor Dr. Nikolaus Franke has been in charge of the scientific management since 2002 and is the founder and director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar is the mentor of TOP 100. Project partners include the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research and the BVMW (The German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses). As media partners, manager magazin, impulse and W&V accompany the comparison of companies.
