On May 10, 2025, BUTTING invited guests to a family day in Könnern, opening the doors of its production halls to employees, their families, friends, and guests of honor. Around 250 guests accepted the invitation, sending a strong signal of solidarity with the 70 employees. They enjoyed a celebration that offered exciting insights into production and, above all, highlighted the values that are lived out at BUTTING every day.
Managing Director Henning Lütkemüller welcomed the attendees with clear words: “We can look back on a successful 2024 – and this day is our way of saying thank you to everyone who contributed to this success with their commitment, loyalty, and trust.”
2024 was a strong year for the Könnern site. A project in the LNG sector secured capacity utilization for the 12-meter sheet tube production facility. In addition, BUTTING is ideally positioned with a long-term strategy, sustainable investments in modern production technologies, and a clear commitment to its locations and employees.
During guided tours of the production facilities, guests gained exciting insights into the world of materials and welding technology. Video sequences made technical processes tangible and understandable – in line with the company's motto: “We are an international family of employees – and yet we see ourselves as learners every day.”
Visitors were able to test their knowledge in a fun way during the popular BUTTING rally. Small rewards from the company's own fan shop provided additional enjoyment – and showed that technology at BUTTING is not just about precision, but also teamwork, passion, and enthusiasm.
The colorful supporting program offered entertainment for young and old alike: The youngest guests enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, and hands-on activities organized by the youth fire brigade, the carnival club, and the local Atrium fitness studio as part of Hansefit's benefit program. At the same time, adults had the opportunity to chat over delicious food and drinks.
Owner Hermann Butting also made a point of attending in person. In open discussions with employees and guests, he demonstrated the down-to-earth attitude and closeness that have characterized the family business for generations.
The family day in Könnern was a celebration of community – characterized by openness, responsibility, and the strong bonds between our family of employees. It showed what makes BUTTING special: economic success based on solidarity and shared values.
