With the start of the apprenticeship programme, numerous young people embarked on a new chapter in their lives at our sites in Knesebeck, Schwedt and CryoTech. In total, we welcomed 52 new apprentices who have chosen a career at BUTTING. We look forward to supporting them on their journey.
At our headquarters in Knesebeck, 37 talented young people began their apprenticeships on 1 August. A joint onboarding session took place even before the official start of the training programme. This gave the new recruits the chance to get their first impressions, get to know one another and try on their work uniforms. The first group photos were also taken on this day.
On the first day of the training programme, the focus was on getting to know one another. Parents were also invited. A joint tour of the premises and the traditional group photo were also part of the kick-off.
The new apprentices and dual-study students then went straight into their first joint training week – the team week. The main aim here was to get to know one another better, bond as a group and kick off their training period together. Highlights included the Team Activity Day with various team challenges on the sports field, as well as the trainees’ trip to Schwedt. Claudia Rohde, Head of Training and Talent Development at Knesebeck, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve come together and are taking this important step together. The start of the apprenticeship is a time of expectations and curiosity for both sides. Not everything will be perfect, but if we remain curious and continue to develop together, we can go far.”
At our site in Schwedt, 13 prospective plant mechanics began their working lives at the start of August. Back in July, the future apprentices had the chance to get to know the company together with their accompanying adults. As well as information about the apprenticeship programme, the programme included a tour of the premises and an initial insight into day-to-day working life. On their first day of training, the new colleagues were personally welcomed by their trainers, received their work kit and got straight down to their first practical tasks. A joint team day and a visit from the Knesebeck trainees further encouraged interaction and cross-site collaboration.
On 1 September, two young professionals began their apprenticeships at BUTTING CryoTech in Burgkirchen – an office administration assistant and a plant mechanic. The first day was all about settling in: Following a welcome from the trainers, there was a safety briefing, a tour of the premises, an opportunity to get to know their colleagues, and a group lunch with all the trainees and trainers. This gave the new trainees a comprehensive insight into the company and allowed them to gain their first practical experience.
