For 35 years, the BUTTING Förderverein e. V. has been supporting social and charitable projects for employees and their families as well as initiatives and institutions in our region. As one of these projects, the BUTTING Förderverein also supports Jenny Borchert and her organisation "Tiergestützt verbunden".
As a certified specialist in animal-assisted intervention, Jenny Borchert visits retirement homes, nurseries and schools in the region with her Labrador dog Fibi, her chickens and her African giant snails. This work is exemplary of how BUTTING sees itself: thinking holistically, acting humanely and having a sustainable impact. Intervention with animals promotes emotional well-being, reduces stress, strengthens social skills and at the same time supports physical and cognitive development. For older people in particular, the presence of animals activates memories, stimulates conversations and elicits reactions even in people with limited communication skills.
The aim of her latest project, "Fit for School", is to make the transition from kindergarten to primary school easier for children. The children learn and improve important skills that are essential for a successful start to school through play and animal companionship. These include concentration, social skills, self-confidence and a responsible approach to tasks.
The BUTTING Förderverein e. V. supports Jenny Borchert in her current training in systemic, animal-assisted grief and family counselling for children and young people. Grief counselling is a matter close to her heart, and in 2024 she did an internship at an association near Bielefeld.
The charity strengthens the values that BUTTING stands for, promotes the region, takes responsibility and lives a sense of WE.
BUTTING - more than pipes - for a better quality of life
