New ‘spaces’ for learning and discovery

Learning, discovering and spending time together – all of this is now possible at Knesebeck Primary School, even outside the classroom. Through various contributions, BUTTING at its head office has supported the local primary school in creating new opportunities for learning, physical activity and hands-on experiences.

The focus is on the ‘green classroom’. To help create this, BUTTING donated four garden dining sets and two pergolas. Here, the pupils can get involved, try out new things and develop their practical skills.

In addition, the company provided workbenches in the craft room for the pupils’ practical work. There, they can get involved, try out new things and gain their own experiences. A specially made ball dispenser will in future complement the range of physical activities in the school playground and encourage children to play together.

A project day focusing on nutrition, exercise and relaxation provided the perfect setting for the opening ceremony. Working in various groups, the pupils explored the basics of a healthy school day. They then presented their findings to their parents and other invited guests, and together they officially opened the newly created areas.

Sebastian Ballendat, Head of Purchasing at BUTTING, emphasised: “As a family-run business with deep roots in Knesebeck, BUTTING takes responsibility for the region and the people who live here. It is a matter close to our hearts to provide young people with good educational opportunities and to foster an environment in which they can discover and develop their skills. Our support for the primary school thus extends beyond the project day and creates long-term opportunities for discovery, experimentation and physical activity.”
