For BUTTING, sustainability is an essential part of its corporate identity. With its new 2025 Sustainability Report, BUTTING is once again providing transparency regarding its sustainability performance – for the first time covering the entire BUTTING Group.
We are publishing our Sustainability Report for 2025, thereby consistently continuing on our path towards greater transparency. Since 2023, BUTTING has been reporting on progress, measures and targets in the area of sustainability. The current report marks a significant milestone: in preparation for the implementation of the new European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), our report covers the entire BUTTING Group for the first time.
Responsibility, reliability and long-term thinking have shaped our actions for 250 years. As a family-run business now in its seventh or eighth generation, our aim is to reconcile economic success with environmental and social responsibility and to pass on a healthy, sustainable business to future generations.
The new sustainability report demonstrates how we combine economic success with environmental and social responsibility. Furthermore, it outlines our future goals and the specific measures through which we aim to make a positive contribution to future generations. This first-ever group-wide analysis provides a comprehensive overview of how sustainability is understood, managed and further developed within the BUTTING Group.
We received confirmation that we are on the right track at our largest site in Knesebeck in 2025 in the form of two awards: the renowned sustainability platform EcoVadis awarded BUTTING the Platinum Medal. In addition, we received the ‘Zukunftsgeber’ award from the Braunschweig Employers’ Association for being a particularly attractive employer in the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region. These accolades motivate us to continue steadfastly along the path we have chosen and to keep investing in a sustainable future despite all the uncertainties and current developments.
With the first-ever publication of a group-wide sustainability report, we are underlining our commitment to viewing sustainability as a long-term endeavour and to developing it further across all areas of the group.
