How did I find out about the BUTTING scholarship programme?
My goal was to go to university after completing my training. As a result, I learned of the BUTTING scholarship programme even before my training. During my apprenticeship as a materials tester I thought more intensively about the scholarship programme. After a positive and informative discussion, I did not find it difficult to make the decision to apply for the scholarship programme.

I can recommend the BUTTING scholarship programme because ...
... it preserves the contact with BUTTING. If I have any questions, I can ask my subject mentor for advice. I also have the opportunity to do placements or internships during my semester breaks. Thanks to the financial support, I can fully focus on my studies.

The best thing about the BUTTING scholarship programme is ...
... the regular network meetings where you can exchange ideas with other scholarship holders. There are also talks on current topics from different areas of BUTTING. Furthermore, workshops are held at network meetings to improve interdisciplinary skills. Of course, the financial support helps in everyday student life too.

How did I find out about the BUTTING study support programme?
At the end of my training as a material tester, my colleagues and supervisors encouraged me to pursue my training and embark on a course of study. Once I'd finally decided to take this step, I found out about the scholarship programme. I got lots of information from current and former programme participants, and also from talking with Ms Schmidt on the phone. All in all, I was particularly impressed by how the programme is closely related to the company where I'd done my previous training and so I applied. After an interview with Mr Schüller and Ms Schmidt, I was offered a place and am now part of the scholarship programme.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... you get quick and easy-to-understand answers and support from your professional mentor. Due to the close relationship you have with the company, the chances of being hired after completing the programme are high. The regular network meetings help you stay in touch with other people on the programme with whom you can share your experiences. Of course, financial support is an important point. The scholarship itself finances a large part of the study programme. So you don't necessarily need to find a part-time job. You can invest all your additional time in studying and revising.

The best thing about the BUTTING study support programme is ...
... the scholarship programme provides close contact with H. Butting GmbH & Co. KG and with former colleagues. It offers more practical training than is normally the case at a college or university. You also have the opportunity of working in the company when there are no lectures, giving you the chance to apply the theory. Projects and dissertations can be developed in the company where you have access to existing knowledge and expertise that you can build on.

How did I find out about the BUTTING study support programme?
Already in the team week, at the beginning of my training as an industrial clerk at BUTTING, I became aware of the study support programme. Since I've always wanted to study, I was very happy that BUTTING supported me in this way. After a briefing with the study support staff I decided to apply for a place on the study support programme.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... you never lose contact with the company. Thanks to study counselling and a personal mentor, I always have contacts who support me during my studies. In addition, BUTTING offers the opportunity to work as a student trainee during the semester holidays or to do internships.

The best thing about the BUTTING study support programme is ...
... definitely the network meetings! In these, the students can exchange ideas and share experiences. There are also talks on current topics at BUTTING and workshops that promote interdisciplinary skills.

How did I find out about the BUTTING study support programme?
After getting my Abitur qualification, it had always been my aim with training to create a solid foundation on which I can build through study. During my training at BUTTING, there were a number of occasions, such as Team Week or on the BUTTING website, when I heard about the scholarship programme and found out more about it. After an initial informational interview, I quickly realised that I would like to apply.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... it provides great support for my studies, in addition to financial help. Close contact with BUTTING through my mentor gives me the opportunity to work during the holidays to gain plenty of insights and to start networking on site.

The best thing about the BUTTING study support programme is ...
... network meetings where you can find out new things about BUTTING and a range of interdisciplinary topics. Programme participants also exchange lots of ideas and learn from one another.

My tasks are …
... in addition to the development and adaptation of existing SAP applications, especially in the warehouse/shipping area, above all the interface programming for the planned forklift control system. In the near future, I will also oversee archiving from the SAP system.

... it provides everyone with a good opportunity to take even theoretical courses like mine in a way that is always related to practical needs. Thanks to the mentoring and study supervision, contact with the company is maintained.
The study grant is also a great relief since it provides financial support, which gives a certain basic security in terms of financial planning, so that you can concentrate on your studies without many worries.
The network meetings with all grant holders have always been personally and professionally enriching. The network also helps me in my current work environment.

After my studies, I am now employed at H. Butting GmbH & Co KG in the ...
... QS (Acceptance II) area

I can apply/contribute the following contents/focus areas of my studies in my area of work ...
General technical understanding as well as independent work in initially unknown subject areas, team work as well as the assumption of responsibility for "my" tasks.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... during the semester break, you can gain insight into different areas of the company throughout your studies and earn money as a student trainee, and the network meetings ensure that the grant holders keep in touch with each other all the time. After my studies, I am now employed at H. Butting GmbH & Co KG in the ...
... Production area – to be precise, in planning deadlines and capacity. In addition, I work on the optimization of production processes.

My tasks are …
... the planning and control of production areas as well as working with a planning tool, with the help of which simulations and analyses are carried out in order to plan production orders optimally. This includes capacity monitoring and capacity maintenance. Bottlenecks must be identified and measures taken to enable a continuous material flow. In addition, my task is to counteract problems in various production areas through "lean management" approaches.

I can apply/contribute the following contents/focus areas of my studies in my field of application ...
... My bachelor's degree has focused on technical sales. Here, the basics of manufacturing processes – from an economic and technical perspective – as well as the basis for understanding corporate processes were laid. In the Master's programme, the technical specialisation was in "Production and Systems Engineering" and the economic specialisations focused on "Organisation and Leadership" and "Production and Logistics". In particular, the understanding and the possible optimisation of production processes help all components of my studies. In my current job, the process view as well as process/manufacturing understanding and the coordination of interface areas are of particular importance.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... of the closeness to the company through regular network meetings and talks on a variety of topics from different divisions continues. In addition, you not only expand your knowledge of BUTTING-specific topics, but also gain valuable insights that are useful for better mastering studies (for example, talks/seminars on time management). In addition, the exchange of ideas with the other grant holders is always a good thing.

Financial support makes it far easier to concentrate on your studies. I consider it is splendid that – despite the financial support from BUTTING – we are free to write our project essays and theses on other companies. Even during a semester abroad, the support of BUTTING remains, although this would exceed the prescribed standard period of study. The semester talks, which are not only about performance records but also about personal and "human" topics, round off the study support programme.

After my studies, I am now employed at H. Butting GmbH & Co KG in the ...
... Maintenance in Materials Management area.

My tasks are …
... as a group leader, the ordering, storage and provision of spare parts, auxiliary and operating materials as well as machines and machine components. In addition to this day-to-day business, another area of responsibility is the permanent optimisation of inventories and processes in the field of materials management. Above all, the interaction with various interfaces, such as the purchasing department, plays an important role.

I can apply/contribute the following contents/focus areas of my studies in my field of application ...
In everyday work, the contents from my main subject of logistics are used. Thus, a great deal of content from the areas of procurement logistics, production logistics and operations management can be found again. For my job as a team leader, however, the contents from the field of business psychology, such as work and organisational psychology, are very helpful.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... you have the opportunity to keep in close contact with the company during your studies and thus with your future workplace. Especially during the semester breaks period, as a student trainee, you can gain additional practical experience that complements the theoretical knowledge from the university with important practical experience.

The network meetings are a very interesting addition to the contents of the study. They offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with other grant holders from the  BUTTING study support programme and to build networks for your later professional life.

After my studies, I am now employed at H. Butting GmbH & Co KG in the ...
... "Line pipes & clad pipes" sales department.

My tasks are ...
... largely, the preparation of detailed technical and commercial offers, which we develop for the tendered projects of our customers (oil companies and EPCI companies). Internal communication with interfaces of all kinds plays an important role here, as does communication with customers before, during and after tender preparation.

I can apply/contribute the following contents/focus areas of my studies in my area of work ...
In general, I can say that content is found in almost every area of study in everyday working life. The most important content comes from the following lectures: Project Management/Technical Sales and Sales Strategies/Materials Science/ Technology/English & Intercultural Competence.

I can recommend the BUTTING study support programme because ...
... closeness to the company during my studies is important to me. The fact that in the best case there can be a constant switch between professional activity and studies, means that you never lose the connection to the company and the world of work and collect additional professional experiences parallel to your studies.
Furthermore, you can concentrate fully on your studies during the semester, as you can always work in the company during semester breaks. Since this activity can vary, the individual's wealth of experience is at the same time broader, as certain processes can be viewed and understood from a different point of view.
In addition, it was very important to me personally to be able to secure independent financial support during my studies, which was also provided by the financial support and the various deployments at BUTTING.
