Workplace health promotion enjoys a special status at BUTTING in Knesebeck. The annual highlight is the company run in Braunschweig - this year with over 70 employees of the family-run company.
In true BUTTING style, all the runners travelled from the factory premises to Braunschweig in the BUTTING bus. After individual warm-up and stretching exercises, the BUTTING entourage soon made their way to the starting line. The course was almost 5 kilometres long. While some runners focussed on the shared experience, others were more ambitious. Managing Director Dirk Meinecke landed at the top of the BUTTING podium, closely followed by Jan Wiezowiecki and Paul Bauke.
Organiser Jan Holz was more than satisfied with the event: "We exceeded our target of at least 50 runners, I think we'd better plan for 100 next year," he said, pleased with the large number of participants.
After the race, the BUTTING athletes rounded off the event in their specially designed running shirts before travelling back to Knesebeck on the BUTTING bus.
"Events like the company run always stand out, of course, but we offer a much wider range of workplace health promotion programmes," reports Jan Holz. Nutrition, sport and medical counselling or check-ups round off the offer at BUTTING. "We want to maintain and promote the physical, mental, psychological and social health of our employees," he explains. Regular fruit days, free cardiovascular and skin screenings as well as counselling on addiction and psychological stress in the workplace are important pillars. The HANSEFIT company fitness programme and bike leasing at BUTTING round off the offer.
