We travelled to Bremen with our two apprentices Silas Anders (3rd year) and Julian Wegmeyer for the North German championship in the "Jugend schweißt" competition organised by the DVS (German Welding Society). The best young talents from Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein met there at the Bremen Chamber of Crafts - and our two apprentices impressively demonstrated what an apprenticeship at BUTTING is all about.
Silas Anders competed in the TIG welding discipline and impressed the jury with his high precision, clean seams and great technical sensitivity. He was honoured with an outstanding 2nd place. Julian Wegmeyer demonstrated his skills in MAG welding and impressed with his concentration, manual dexterity and perseverance. He was also rewarded - with a fantastic 3rd place.
These successes show how high-quality and practical our training is. Through the combination of in-depth expertise, targeted support and the commitment of our trainers, we create the best conditions for young talents to realise their potential.
"We are proud of the achievements of our junior staff," emphasises Carsten Kamke, team leader of industrial training at BUTTING. "Silas and Julian represented our training programme excellently at the competition with their commitment, discipline and technical understanding. A big thank you also goes to our trainers, who laid the foundations for this success with their passion, experience and expertise."
A special highlight of the day: our colleague Hannes Mielmann, reigning world champion in welding, was there as a special guest. For his outstanding achievements, the DVS regional association is sponsoring him further training as a welding specialist. Such successes confirm our claim: training at BUTTING is an investment in the future.
