For over 30 years, BUTTING has been supplying corrosion-resistant, pressure-resistant stainless steel pipes, pipe fittingsand piping components made of special alloys for seawater desalination plants around the world. We offer a wide range of services and support, from the manufacture of pipes to the prefabrication of spools and construction site support.

High-quality complete solutions

Rely on a high-quality complete solution from BUTTING for your project. We not only install the pipework components in the base frame, but also all the equipment provided, such as vessels, pumps, apparatus, other components, armatures and expansion joints.

Our modules are used as central components in the desalination and treatment process of seawater desalination plants and reliably withstand the most severe loads in an extremely corrosive environment. They also fulfil high requirements in terms of dimensional accuracy, so that the materials arrive at your construction site ready for installation and with a perfect fit.

Safety through prefabrication

Benefit from the advantages of our prefabrication. Over 95 per cent of the welds are produced at BUTTING. These workshop welds and the pickling of the complete components guarantee optimum quality of the welds and the surface. Non-destructive tests such as pressure tests, dye-penetrant testing and X-ray tests are also carried out in-house and are no longer necessary on the construction site.

The modules and pipework are called off as construction progresses. In this way, BUTTING guarantees customised and smooth process planning by "just in time" delivery. All this means optimum planning quality and shorter lead times for you and your project. Ultimately, you can also realise potential savings in project costs.

Modular systems

BUTTING was commissioned with the production of skids made of Superduplex in the size of 40-foot containers, which were installed in the seawater desalination plant. We were also responsible for the complete PE pipework and the steel construction for the skids.

Stainless steel pipes

For a seawater desalination plant, BUTTING supplied stainless steel pipes in diameters from 1" to 8" and distribution pipes DN 250 to 400, with 600 welded-on nozzles. The materials used were TP 316L, Duplex and Superduplex. We were also responsible for site supervision at the customer's premises.

Racks

BUTTING manufactured various racks for the Reghaïa seawater desalination project in Algeria. Racks for membrane filtration were delivered for another customer. The racks from BUTTING are helping to improve access to clean drinking water for the entire global population.

Modules and pipework

For five large seawater desalination plants south of Tel Aviv (Israel), BUTTING in Tieling (China) manufactured complete solutions with 192 modules and connecting pipework as a one-stop shop. We also assembled all the supplied parts on site.
