In dry weather, a total of eight teams took part in the competition, representing different companies from the northern district of Gifhorn. The ambition in the air could be cut with a knife and on the pitch everyone got stuck in, but played fair. The teams put up a good fight, because of course they all wanted to win the coveted trophy.
After exciting finals, the victors of the tournament were decided. Unfortunately, the BUTTING team lost the final and had to settle for second place. However, the top goal-scorer award for the tournament went to a BUTTING employee: Malte Leese’s performance was impressive.
The large number of spectators had a good time too. Food stalls kept the wolf from the door, and anyone who fancied a go could play the Wheel of Fortune for a small charge and win one of a number of prizes provided by regional sponsors. The proceeds from the Wheel of Fortune and the entry fees for the teams taking part will be donated to a charitable institution in Gifhorn for social welfare. The bouncy castle and the “Measure your goal-scoring shot” system and the activities offered by BARMER, our health insurance partner, also helped to ensure that young and old were well entertained.
Jan Holz, responsible for occupational health and safety at BUTTING, draws a positive conclusion: "The specific goal of occupational health management at BUTTING is to maintain and promote the physical, emotional, mental and social health of all employees. We aim to implement this with a variety of measures. The company football tournament is a great example of this and at the same time underlines for me the idea that we’re all in this together."
BUTTING congratulates the victorious team Restaurant Odysseus / Tito's Bar on its splendid triumph and thanks all the company teams for taking part and for an all-round successful day. We look forward to getting our revenge next year!
