Largest ship load for BUTTING Anlagenbau

BUTTING Anlagenbau has handled the largest ship’s load in the company’s history in the harbour of Schwedt on the Oder. In mid-November a total of 33 vessels were loaded for shipment to Algeria.

The family business received an order from a customer for a variety of vessels weighing a total of around 147 t for a sugar refinery in Algeria. Thus 22 process and pressure vessels were manufactured from stainless steel, and 10 from black steel. They were each produced in one piece with a volume of up to 110 m³. The delivery also included a black steel storage tank which was prefabricated in several parts due to its volume of 400 m³.

The shipment will proceed from Schwedt via Szczecin to Algeria. Ms Rita Paeger, who was responsible for the logistical organisation at BUTTING Anlagenbau, explains: “This order was particularly challenging for us. All the vessels had to be manufactured at the same time and on schedule. We are proud that we achieved this ambitious goal for our customer.”
