BUTTING Hands-on Days II

Module II of the BUTTING Hands-on Days deals with "More than pipes - a practical workshop". Thus it builds on the contents of BUTTING Hands-on Days I “All about the quality pipe” and is aimed at experienced staff from trading companies working with pipes and pipe fittings.

The presentation topics are:

  • Welding – a special process in pipe production
  • Appropriate manufacturing methods depending on intended use
  • Quality assurance measures
  • Possibilities for pipe finishing – forming, turning, milling, cutting

Participants find out what criteria to consider when turning a stainless-steel pipe into a component ready for installation. They gain an insight into the welding process and welding technology quality management.

In addition, they familiarise themselves with a variety of chemical, mechanical and thermal processes that are used in the manufacture and finishing of quality pipes.

The connection between the specific demands on the completed component and the particular production process becomes clear.

A characteristic of this event is how closely it is related to actual practice: Extensive inspections of BUTTING’s current production complement the theoretical knowledge from the seminar presentations.

The training sessions will take place in the teaching rooms of the Academy at H. Butting GmbH & Co. KG in Knesebeck. Overnight accommodation and the evening meal will be provided at the conference premises of the BUTTING Academy, Knesebeck castle, which is not far from the plant site.
