BUTTING – Pipes in special geometries

Due to our long-standing experience with the production of longitudinally welded round pipes, we also manufacture oval, square, rectangular and polygonal pipes made from coil or plate. The sizes, material grades, testing and mechanical-technological properties can be adapted to the customer's specific requirements.

A nice proof of our capabilities is the production of square and hexa- gonal pipes to extremely tight tolerances for the nuclear industry. The nominal bore of the square pipes is 234 mm +1/-0. For the European Research Institute CERN in Geneva, we produced a copper plated oval pipe, called ”beam screen”. Another example of our versatility is the railing of the Millenium Bridge in London made of BUTTING flat profile pipes in the dimension 200/60 × 5 mm.

U-profiles, half shells in concave and convex shape with only the slightest curvature or pipes in the shape of a clover leaf which is joined of three identical special sizes – these all show that BUTTING is able to produce nearly all pipe geometries.
