BUTTING presents a Christmas donation to Kirchröder Turm

On 13th December 2013, Hermann Butting, President of the BUTTING stainless steel processing company in Knesebeck, handed over a cheque for EUR 20 000 to the Director and Manager of Kirchröder Turm, Jürgen Scheidt and his deputy, Renate Wilke-Koch.

BUTTING decided against Christmas presents for customers and opted instead to present a donation to CASA DELLA VITA, an institution for traumatised children and young people run by L!FE CONCEPTS Kirchröder Turm.

Since 1948, L!FE CONCEPTS Kirchröder Turm, founded by a Church welfare organisation as “Kinderheimat Gifhorn” has been assisting children, young people and families in difficult situations in life and with traumatic experiences.

Help is on offer in inpatient and outpatient form, and in a mixture of the two. One of the inpatient, residential projects for traumatised young people is called CASA DELLA VITA (House of Life). BUTTING decided to donate to this project in particular, in order to give special assistance to traumatised children and young people.

The donation idea came about through BUTTING’s self-conception: “Being a healthy family business we see ourselves as a large famliy of employees. Respectful treatment of one another and honest appreciation of the value of every employee and every individual is very dear to the heart of BUTTING. So it is a matter close to our heart to also help others who are not doing so well in life”, says Hermann Butting.

Jürgen Scheidt and Renate Wilke-Koch of L!FE CONCEPTS Kirchröder Turm would like to use the donation for a long-term purpose: “We always use donations for quite specific wishes of our children and the ideas of our staff. The donation from BUTTING lets us make a special, long-held dream come true for the residents: a favourite craftsman with a big heart and a great deal of empathy, who does construction work, DIY and repair jobs with the children in CASA DELLA VITA, is to be given working materials and tools. This will make a sensible and constructive activity possible for our young people. In addition, this money will enable another therapeutic residential group to have a summer holiday.
